ELECTION is a political thriller written and directed by Thamizh. The film is produced by Aditya Narayanan,

Actor Vijay Kumar has a knack for choosing scripts that are unique and suit his style of acting. But this film ELECTION is so full of mass and commercial elements that the film does not quite impress cinematically or commercially. The film did have some expectations considering Thamizh and Vijay Kumar’s getting together, but the film hardly makes any impression throughout. Though the first half makes up for some interesting moments with some good action scenes the film suffers from being very preachy and those long lengthy dialogues. The sub plots are a dampener along with the horde of characters that do not quite register. The climax despite the twist is still predictable.

Vijay Kumar is decent in his role. Preethi Asrani is good while Richa Joshi is decent. George Maryan is fine and the rest are OK.

Mahendra Jayaraju’s cinematography is neat. Music by Govind Vasanth works for the film. Editing by Prem Kumar could have been crisper. Dialogues are decent and direction could have been better.
