RAGHU THATHA – MOVIE REVIEW

RAGHU THATHA is a political comedy film written and directed by Suman Kumar, in his directorial debut. The film is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films, in their Tamil production debut.

Convenience is the game here as writer Suman Kumar sets the story in the 60s and 70s and it gives him enough ammunition to satiate a specific audience that continues to believe in them. But then when it comes to screenplay Suman stands exposed as he is no Visu or Bhagyaraj as this women centric film that touches on a lot of topics falls flat with respect to execution. The forced humour is appalling while the logic is ridiculous. There are no surprises in the film and the film feels flat throughout. Safe subject, stale topics and poor narration makes it a tiring watch..

Keerthy Suresh is okay in an unconvincing character. Ravindra Vijay is okay. MS Bhaskar is his usual self the rest are just there.

Cinematography by Yamini Yagnamurthy is good. Sean Ronald’s background score is decent. Dialogues are bland. Editing by T.S. Suresh is weak. Direction is ordinary.

RAGHU THATHA is a weak film on all counts!!
