SSB டாக்கீஸ் தயாரிப்பில் செல்வகுமார் செல்லப்பாண்டியன் இயக்கத்தில் உருவாகியுள்ள படம் ‘வார்டு 126’. தனிமனித ஒழுக்கத்தை வலியுறுத்தும் விதமாக ரொமான்டிக் இன்வெஸ்டிகேடிவ் திரில்லர் ஆக இது உருவாகியுள்ளது. பெண்களை மையப்படுத்தி உருவாகியுள்ள இந்த படத்தில் ஷ்ரிதா சிவதாஸ், சாந்தினி தமிழரசன், வித்யா பிரதீப், ஸ்ருதி ராமகிருஷ்ணா ஆகியோர் கதாநாயகிகளாக நடிக்க, நாயகர்களாக மைக்கேல் தங்கதுரை மற்றும் ஜிஷ்ணு மேனன் ஆகியோர் நடித்துள்ளனர். முக்கிய வேடத்தில் சோனியா அகர்வால் மற்றும் ஸ்ரீமன் ஆகியோர் நடித்துள்ளனர்.

எஸ்கே சுரேஷ் குமார் ஒளிப்பதிவை மேற்கொள்ள படத்திற்கு வருண் சுனில் இசையமைத்துள்ளார். இவர் சூப்பர் ஹிட்டான கண்ணும் கண்ணும் கொள்ளையடித்தால் படத்திற்கு இசையமைத்தவர். படத்தொகுப்பை தியாகு கவனிக்கிறார்

படம் பற்றி இயக்குநர் செல்வகுமார் செல்லப்பாண்டியன் கூறும்போது,

ஒவ்வொரு துறையிலும் ஒரு இருண்ட பக்கங்கள் இருக்கிறது. அதே போல் நான் ஐடி துறையில் பணியாற்றிய போது என் கண் முன்னரே நடந்த அதன் இருண்ட பக்கங்களின் நிகழ்வுகளை  மையப்படுத்தி இந்த கதையை உருவாக்கியுள்ளேன். வார்டு-126 என்ற தலைப்பு ஒரு முடிவின் தொடக்கமாக இருக்கும். படத்தை துவங்கிய சமயத்தில் தான் கொரோனா தாக்கம் ஆரம்பித்தது. ஆனால் அதையெல்லாம் தாண்டி பல சவால்களை சந்தித்து படப்பிடிப்பை நடத்தி முடித்தோம். கதை நிகழும் களமான சென்னை, பெங்களூர்  மற்றும் டில்லி அருகிலுள்ள நொய்டா ஆகிய இடங்களிலும் பாடல்களை பாண்டிச்சேரியிலும் படமாக்கியுள்ளோம். இந்த கதையில் நடித்துள்ள நாயகிகள் அனைவருக்குமே சம முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. கதையை கேட்கும்போதே உடனே ஒப்புக்கொண்டதுடன்  ஒரு புதுமுக இயக்குனர் என்கிற எந்த தயக்கமும் இல்லாமல் படப்பிடிப்பில் மிகுந்த ஒத்துழைப்பு தந்தனர்.

விரைவில் இந்த படத்தை தியேட்டர்களில் வெளியிட திட்டமிட்டுள்ளோம். இந்த காத்திருப்பு காலத்தில் ஏற்கனவே கொரோனோ தாக்கத்தால் ஏற்பட்ட பொருளாதார பாதிப்புடன் இன்னும் கூடுதல் சுமை தான் ஏற்பட வாய்ப்பு அதிகம் இருக்கிறது. அதனால் தியேட்டர்களில் வெளியிட்டு உடனடியாக முதலீட்டை திரும்பப் பெறுவது தான் புத்திசாலித்தனமாக இருக்கும் என முடிவு செய்துவிட்டோம். விநியோகஸ்தர்கள் சிலருடன் பேச்சு வார்த்தை இறுதிக்கட்டத்தை எட்டியுள்ளது. தவிர இந்த படமும் தியேட்டரில் ரசிகர்கள் பார்த்து ரசிக்கும் விதமான படமாகத்தான் உருவாகியுள்ளது.

அதேசமயம் ஒடிடியில் படத்தை வெளியிடுவதற்கான வாசலையும் திறந்தே வைத்துள்ளோம்.. பொதுவாக ஓடிடியில் படத்தை வெளியிடுவது சுலபம் என பலரும் நினைக்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் நிஜத்தில் ஓடிடி தளத்தில் படத்தை வெளியிடுவதற்கு நீண்ட நாள் காத்திருக்க வேண்டியிருக்கிறது. காரணம் இந்தமுறையில் படத்தை வெளியிடுவதற்கும் பல படங்கள் வரிசை கட்டி நிற்கின்றன’ என்று கூறுகிறார்  செல்வகுமார் செல்லப்பாண்டியன். பல வெற்றி படங்களை வெளியிட்ட  ஆக்சன் ரியாக்சன் ஜெனீஷ்  இத்திரைப்படத்தை பார்த்து பிரம்மிப்படைந்து   இம்மாத இறுதியில் உலகம் முழுவதும் திரையிட உள்ளார்.

*’Ward 126′ is a female-centric romantic investigative thriller*

*Ward 126*, a romantic investigative thriller emphasizing individual morality is produced by *SSB Talkies* & *directed by Selvakumar Chellapandian*.  Crafted as a female-centric movie, it features *Shritha Sivadas, *Vidya Pradeep*, *Shruthi Ramakrishna* as the female lead roles, and *Michael *Thangadurai* & *Jishnu Menon* as the male lead characters. Besides, Sonia Aggarwal and Sriman are appearing as pivotal characters. SK Suresh Kumar is handling cinematography for this movie, which features a musical score by Varun Sunil, who shot to incredible fame for his spellbinding musical score in Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithal.  Thyagu is taking care of the editing.

*Filmmaker Selvakumar Chellapandian quote -* “Every industry has a dark side, which remains as an inevitable element. Similarly, I have made this movie based on my experiences and encounters with those darkest sides, when I worked in the IT industry. The title “Ward 126” will be the beginning of an end.”

The pandemic touched its peak when we started shooting this movie. However, we have battled against all these odds, faced many challenges, and managed to complete this movie. We shot the movie in Chennai, Bangalore, and Noida, located near Delhi, and the songs in Pondicherry. All the female lead actors in this movie have equal importance with strong characters. Despite me being a debut filmmaker, they instantly agreed to be a part of this project after the narration and extended their complete support throughout the shoot.

We are planning to release the movie at the earliest in the theaters. Since the waiting period is likely to add more to the economic damages incurred due to the corona impact, we have decided to release it in the theaters at the earliest, to get back the investments made.  Our talks with distributors are nearing completion, and we will make an official announcement about the release shortly. Ward 126 is made to offer a good theatrical experience.

At the same time, we have kept our doors open for the valuable OTT offers too. There is a misconception that releasing a movie on the OTT platform is an easy deal. However, the real fact is that the waiting period is a long phase due to the long queue of pending releases. Action Reaction Jenish, whose Midas-touch upon several movies, turned them into successful hits, enthralled after watching this movie is releasing it worldwide by end of this month.
