GAAMI is written by Vidhyadhar Katiga and Pratyush Vatyam. The film is directed by Vidhyadhar Katiga and produced by Karthik Sabareesh. The trailers of the film created quite a buzz.
It doesn’t take long to decipher that GAAMI is an attempt at something different. The non linear narration superimposing three different narratives keeps the audience hooked. But the impact of the screenplay is limited as the scenes snaps at important places without giving much food for thought. The film fails in terms of science and logic as the adventure on the high snowy mountains is juvenile to say the least. The script might not be easy understanding for many as the three stories converge at a point. The frequent references to the flashback might help a few and can confuse many more. What works for the film is the concept, but the staging and the slow screenplay leaves a lot to be desired.
Vishwak Sen has done a decent job. Chandini Chowdhary is OK. Abhinaya is good. The rest are fine.
Technically the movie is inconsistent. Vishwanath Reddy’s cinematography is good. The VFX could be a lot better. Naresh Kumaran’s musical score is neat. Editor Raghavendran Thirun has not made the right choices. Dialogues are good while direction is middling.
GAAMI is ambitious but doesn’t deliver !!
GAAMI – GAFFE !!
