VEDAA – MOVIE REVIEW

160

Vedaa is an action drama film directed by Nikkhil Advani and produced by Zee Studios, Emmay Entertainment and JA Entertainment.

Supposedly inspired from many real life episodes VEDAA takes on caste discrimination and adds generous dose of mindless action sequences and a few obligatory songs. The result is a tedious yawn inducing watch. Despite talking about contentious issues the film makes no impact as the scenes lack in depth and focusses more on unnecessary action and a grim faced hero whose hands move more than his lips. The inconsistency in the screenplay is a dampener as the script moves from a serious scene to a crazy song and dance without caution.

John Abraham is huge and grim. Sharvari Wagh cries runs and does little despite being cast a fighter. Abhishek Bannerjee is decent. The rest are okay.

Cinematography by Malay Prakash is good. Music by an ensemble is impactful. Editing by Mahir Zaveri is okay. Dialogues are average and direction unimpressive.

VEDAA is a sure miss !
